It’s national de-lurking day. I did not know.
So, hi. Welcome to the blog! Can I get you a drink? I blog here, entirely too often. I know that there’s a small yet steadfast handful of commenters, but I get more traffic that says nothing. You don’t really have to tell, but it’s nice to know that I am not writing to a gaping black hole sometimes.
I’m stealing my de-lurkish post idea from elsewhere.
So. Some of you have been here before, some are brand new. In either case, most of you don’t ever say a damn word.
Why are you here? Why are we all here? How about something simpler? Um. I’m stumped. Just leave a comment. I won’t bite. Hard.
And, because I’m in a mood… this is hilarious, how have I not seen this:
Hi Beth! I read your blog at least once a week and I never say anything because I’m shy. I like your posts because you make me feel like I’m not alone, like I’m not the only RNY patient on the planet who eats the wrong things or can’t remember squat. Ok, you’re funny too. Oh, and coupon codes rock! 🙂
I’m a lurker too. I may have commented once or twice but I do read quite faithfully. I’m always excited to see what you’re going to say next! Keep blogging, and I’ll try to keep commenting!
Heather
Hi Beth, I have a handful of sites I check almost daily. Yours is one of them. I can say I’m not much of a replier on most if any sights. I just really enjoy reading and gathering information. I will be mindful to comment more in the future. I do really enjoy your site.
Side note: I did have a question for you last week and sent you a message on your OH page with no response. So will as here. I was wondering about the protein wafers on Smartforme.com. Can you purchase them at a retail store or must they be ordered online? The shipping is a bit pricey.
Thanks and keep up the great blogging.

Hi Beth!!! Leaving a comment just to make you happy!
BTW, I was eating a cherry and I accidentally swallowed the bone… Is that dangerous for us bypassees?
I am de-lurking! hiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
Awesome post. It’s kind of like when you post a thread on OH and you have 100 views and no comments. Ugh. Thanks for your sense of humor. You can be one sick puppy, but I love it! (Well, not you _actually_ being sick….just the humor!)
I love your blog, but admit I am a lurker. THanks for all of the great reviews!
Okay, I’ll bite. I just recently found your page through the eggface blog. I found the eggface blog through lapbandtalk.com. I’ve recently found out that I will not be able to afford lapband surgery and am trying to decide if a RNY is right for me. Reading blogs of success stories (especially if they are by intelligent authors) is really helping me to see what life would really be like. Thanks, and I hope to stop lurking.
Hiya. I forget to check my OH messages. :X
Yes, the wafers are mostly online – although I know some hospital programs have them on sale – but I don’t know which. I do have a discount code now – through the review post on the wafers in the sidebar…
Thank you! 🙂
Hi Cait! Doncha love Eggy?! I drool over her food. I rarely make it, but I think about it. LOL. She’s my food hero. I am not really a cook – I mean – I DO cook – I just don’t… really.
However. I am glad you posted. Stick around. 🙂
Sokay. Thank you for commenting anyhow. 🙂 🙂 I like to see ‘faces’ once in a while.
…which happens to me all the time Laura. Hehehe. Luckily I can’t really see how many views these posts get or I probably would not write anymore. LOL.
Thanks Aubrey!
Coupon codes rock my socks, too. I hope to get more … I have to dig. 😀
:P~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🙂
I’m not technically a lurker, as I’ve commented once or twice before, but here I am : )
Evenin’ Erica. 🙂
Hi!!
I check in here every day but I’m another ‘Lurker’ who’s a bit too shy to comment usually.
So yeah, Helllooooooo!
OK, I’m delurking. I found your site a couple of weeks ago or so and have neglected to leave a comment…most likely out of sheer laziness. I really do love your posts!
I’m a lurker… I stop by daily and love your updates, but shamefully never comment. Thanks for writing!
I lurk everyday. 🙂 I am waiting to do my 6 months before I can even discuss surgery. I love your information, and your sense of humor. 🙂
Hi Beth! I’ve been lurking here almost everyday for at least a year, if not more. I think I found you through Jimmy Moore’s site. I’m a low-carber/lapbander. I actually had my 1 year lapband anniversary the other day. I don’t comment because I’m more of a reader. I enjoy your frankness and openness about WLS and life in general. It’s interesting to hear a perspective of someone who is many years post-op, especially since many people like to blog during their post-op honeymoon and then drop off the face of the earth after the first few months. Thanks!
Guilty as charged. Like you I have blood sugar issues. I am just in the beginning stages though. I had a 5 hour glucose test today…Not fun! Apparently depending on the results I may get to enjoy a 72 hour fasting stay in the hospital for more tests. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will have enough info from today’s test. I enjoy reading your posts.
I’ve commented a few times, but not for a while. I read you in my feeds on my iPhone mostly now. You’ve gotten me addicted to Click and Oh Yeah! wafers. I love your reviews. My 2 year surgi-versary is this month from my RNY.
Hi Beth,
Miss getting to visit with you. (damn job) Not really a lurker, per say, just a worker, I guess. Still LOVE your blog. You rule.
xo
I’ve commented only a few times but am a regular reader. Ok, I guess I am a lurker then! I’m not altered physically like you but I am crazy in the head, eating disordered, bitchy mother so can I please keep reading 🙂
Hi Beth,
I read everyday and I have commented once or twice. Like you, I like photography and I can’t wait to see what kind of photos you take with your new camera. Happy B-day by the way. Thanks for letting me lurk.
Eh, I don’t lurk, I comment. Sometimes. Just can’t do it from work, hence the lack of regular commenting. I read your blog because you rock. I buy the protein stuff you recommend because you actually taste it for me (yay Click and Kay’s Naturals!). And, as you know, we are both on the post-RNY CrazyMeds as 30 year-olds with screwed up, malnourished systems gone wrong. So I read you for the data.
Hey Beth…I don’t lurk…I STALK!!! You’re kinda cute, and really funny..I <3 beth!! (ok, not really a stalker, just a pest! 😉
okay okay.. guilty as charged!! lurker here! i love you and read all the time… just never comment. you and shelly have been a wealth of information and hope… i am just 4 months post op. thank you for your candid and funny blog! i adore you MM!! 🙂
Hi Beth…I’m usually a lurker but I am de-lurking today! I’ve actually emailed with you a few times about my husband who developed seizure disorder after RNY (he’s the one who had a full-on clonic tonic seizure in a store with our then-3-yr-old)… You actually read part of one of my emails on a youtube post…I don’t know if you remember.
I found you when I was initially researching post-wls seizure disorders and I check this site almost daily… (I have a duodenal switch so a lot of this info applies to both me and my husband)
You are always very entertaining!
Hey lady…
I am here cause you are extreamly real.. 😉 I read your Blog every day right after eggface, but before I head on to OH… 😉 I have commented a few times, but I am mostly a lurker…
Take care..
Shasta
Hi MM,
I’m not sure why I’m here to be honest. I found a link to your blog just after having RNY surgery in November ’08. I’ve been coming ever since. Originally it was because I loved your product reviews, but the more I lurked the more interested I became. You make me laugh and feel like normal life can exist post surgery. Thanks for all of the information and entertainment.
Jen
Hi Beth!
I delurked last year, I think. 😉
I read your site early in the AM (for me) so I’m not usually of sound mind to post a comment.
I appreicate your writing and truths about life after weight loss. Almost 3 years ago, I was in the process of becoming a Pre-Op. I found the bestdietforme.com website from an ad here, found Medifast1.com and lost 130 pounds.
Now I struggle a little with maintaining but I’m finding my way. 🙂
Happy Delurking day!
I’ve commented a few times and linked back to you once (I think I freaked you out once too). Read you every day (Usually with a two year old on my lap who doesn’t understand why mommy needs to lie down because she’s having one of those moments)Keep on keeping on!
Hello Beth. I’ve been reading your blog daily for about 6 months. I’m an attorney and I stumbled on it during a search about neuropathy and WLS for a case I have. I have some friends and family who’ve had WLS but I haven’t.
I kept coming back because I enjoy your sense of humor and view of the world. You say many things I don’t have the guts to say out loud – or rather, try not to in mixed company. 🙂
I’ve never commented because it didn’t seem necessary. I really never considered myself a “lurker”. I figured that since a blog is such a public venue, if someone puts it out there, the purpose is for it to be read. Kind of like a newspaper column. I didn’t consider it participatory, but I guess that’s what makes blogging different than just writing in your diary.
Well, thank you Heather! 🙂 I appreciate your coming out even for a moment…
